Popular Questions
Time-relevancy is the main difference. Almost all other prestigious and prominent rankings for good design, such as the World Design Rankings, R+ Designer Rankings, DAC Design Classifications, are based on lifetime achievements of ranked entities; as such any and all past awards and accolades for good design contributes to the rankings with more or less same importance, even if such achievements were over 10 years ago. While this class of rankings respectfully recognize the lifetime achievements of the award-winning entities, because of their focus on lifetime achievements and equal weight for past and recent successes, these systems do not necessarily help you easily discover who is best of best in design, at right this moment. Design Leaderboards is time-relevant and gives exponentially more weight to recent successes of the awarded designers, and helps you discover who is best of best in design today, right now; this is the most significant difference between Design Leaderboards and other meritocratic ranking and rating systems for good design.
Design Leaderboards remove barriers of entry, and reduces gatekeeping. Because most other prestigious and prominent rankings for good design, such as the World Design Rankings, R+ Designer Rankings, DAC Design Classifications, are based on lifetime achievements of ranked entities, this creates a significant barrier of entry for new comers; innovative upstarts, creative young designers, radical start-ups, and newly awarded designers and upcoming brands find it difficult to get listed in other ranking systems where there are entities with dozens if not hundreds of achievements over decades that carry them to the top of the rankings. Journalists and media members use these rankings to feature designers and brands that incorporate good design, as such Design Leaderboards create immense value for newly awarded designers and help them get further recognition, publicity and awareness for their award-winning good designs.
Design Leaderboards platform is run and managed by the A' Design Award and Competition. To get included in the Design Leaderboards, you need to be a winner of the A' Design Award.
